Dry Slope Rules

Gloucester - Great Western and Freestyle

  1. Race captains need to provide a list of all competitors to officials. No ski/snowboard hire will be permitted without this list.
  2. Competitors will be allowed to collect equipment from 5.45pm
  3. Helmets must be worn and are available to rent from £2.95
  4. The Race Captain is responsible for assessing the competence of all competitors from their club, to attempt the course.
  5. NO FOOD OR BEVERAGE OF ANY SORT OTHER THAN PURCHASED FROM THE BAR MUST BE BROUGHT ONTO OR CONSUMED WITHIN THE CENTRE COMPLEX INCLUDING ALL OUTSIDE AND SLOPE AREAS . IF THIS RULE IS NOT ADHERED TO THEN THE CULPRITS WILL BE EVICTED FROM THE PREMISES BY SECURITY.
  6. The race captain must ensure members from their club help tidy up the slope at the end of the evening.

Brentwood – Southern and Finals

  1. Helmets are recommended
  2. Gloves, long sleeves and full-length trousers must be worn at all times when on slope
  3. Slope and surrounds must be kept tidy. Competitors should collect and dispose of any litter at the end
  4. All hire kit to be returned promptly at the end of racing

Aldershot - Southern

  1. Helmets must be worn. Chin guards preferred.
  2. Gloves, long sleeves and full-length trousers must be worn at all times when on slope
  3. Slope and surrounds must be kept tidy. Competitors should collect and dispose of any litter at the end
  4. All hire kit to be returned promptly at the end of racing
  5. From 16.00 – 18.00 there will be 2 sessions of family / children groups (up to 30 per session) on site having Donutting sessions / birthday parties. If the race captains can make sure the competitors respect the public spaces and their birthday party activities and remain on the slope allocated to them.

Ackers– Midlands

  1. Helmets are recommended
  2. Gloves, long sleeves and full-length trousers must be worn at all times when on slope
  3. Slope and surrounds must be kept tidy. Competitors should collect and dispose of any litter at the end
  4. All hire kit to be returned promptly at the end of racing
  5. All recreational users must be competent at linked turns, the use of the lift and be able to control their speed. All users use the slope at their own risk.
  6. Long sleeves, trousers and gloves must be worn at all times whilst on the ski slope. Gloves may be hired for a charge of 50p.
  7. Recreational users must remain on the main slope at all times. The use of the nursery slope is not permitted, except by registered Ackers instructors. Teaching is only permitted by Ackers registered instructors.
  8. Any users wishing to use the ramp area of the slope (marked by the vertical red line on the left hand side of the main slope) must first sign the ramp disclaimer at the ski centre reception.
  9. Please do not wear skis, snowblades or snowboards unless on the slope matting i.e. please do not walk over concrete, wood chippings or the green matting whilst wearing them.
  10. No unauthorized users are permitted on the green matting areas.
  11. Ackers ski lessons take priority for use of the slope and lift and where necessary may require the lift to be slowed down. The green lined area to the right hand side of the nursery slope is a designated teaching area, so recreational users are asked to avoid this area should a lesson be in progress.
  12. When getting off the lift, recreational users are asked to release the seats gently and in a straight line, not throwing them to one side.
  13. No jumping or turning is permitted whilst on the lift.
  14. Spectators are not permitted on the slopes at anytime, unless authorized by a member of staff, but may watch from the bottom of the ski slope (not on the green matting) or from inside the ski centre building. The top of the slope is also off-limits to spectators.

Rossendale - Northern

  1. Helmets are recommended
  2. Gloves, long sleeves and full-length trousers must be worn at all times when on slope
  3. Slope and surrounds must be kept tidy. Competitors should collect and dispose of any litter at the end
  4. All hire kit to be returned promptly at the end of racing
  5. Drink - in moderation please
  6. Food - B.B.Q's are banned – Cafe is open and can supply pizza's so racers don't need to order in.
  7. Rubbish - please use the bins provided or ask staff for black bin bags.
  8. Streaking - whilst entertaining can offend some of the families who come up to watch!!!!


In general, please follow the direction of the duty manager on site & abide by all notices around as they are there for safety reasons.
